Vampire Ronan Kayrs wasn’t supposed to survive the savage sacrifice he willingly endured to rid the world of the ultimate evil. He wasn’t supposed to emerge in this time and place, and he sure as hell wasn’t supposed to finally touch the woman who’s haunted his dreams for centuries. Yet here he is, in an era where vampires are hidden, the enemy has grown stronger, and his mate has no idea of the power she holds.
Dr. Faith Cooper is flummoxed by irrefutable proof that not only do vampires exist . . . they’re hot blooded, able to walk in sunlight, and shockingly sexy. Faith has always depended on science, but the restlessness she feels around this predatory male defies reason. Especially when it grows into a hunger only he can satisfy—that is if they can survive the evil hunting them both.
Review
Just when I thought this series was properly wrapped up and were looking forward to seeing what the future holds for little Hope Kayrs-Kyllwood, Ms. Zanetti brings back the excitement with more of the Dark Protectors; with a bigger, bolder storyline with new characters and an expanded world where the stakes are higher than they’ve ever been.
This series is my number one favorite and I binge it at least every other month, so knowing that there are more books to come is making me so happy!
With the previous books, there was the vague possibility of the earth coming to ruin, but with these new villains there is a certainty that earth will come to an end, unless the Realm can pull off a major feat and defeat the enemy.
Ronan Kayrs willingly gave up his life to keep the enemy in prison in a different dimension, but a side effect of the events in Marked is that his world got damaged and he found himself back on earth, hundreds of years after he left. The upside to being back is getting to meet his mate, who he’s dreamed of for so long.
Dr. Faith Cooper is a woman of science and nothing about her new patient cannot be explained by the science she holds so dear, but she is willing to take any chance if there is the slightest option of saving her sister.
I enjoyed everything about this story and the possibilities that abound with this new storyline are endless. Ronan was a very interesting character and watching him catch up to hundreds of years of change was very entertaining in its own way. Faith is smart and independent, which I liked but for a smart woman she was very annoying, made some very dumb decisions instead of trusting the one person who had her best interests at heart.
