He fights fires for a living, but the flames building between us may be too big to extinguish.

Niko West is the most beautiful man I’ve ever laid eyes on.
Six feet, four inches of broody, chiseled Greek god in a firefighter suit.
He’s also been my best friend since kindergarten.
He always says the only solid thing in his life is our friendship.
He’s Honey Mountain’s favorite player and I’m what you’d call a relationship girl.
But when I find myself single for the first time since turning sixteen, I make Niko an offer he can’t refuse.
Who better to show me what I’ve been missing?
But now that we’ve crossed that line, I don’t know if friendship is enough for me.

Review

The friends-to-lovers trope is my all-time favorite because I believe that friendship is the best foundation for a relationship, especially for Vivian and Niko who have been part of each other’s lives for so long and know every bit of the good, bad and ugly about each other, and Ms. Pavlov handles it so beautifully here. This book is fun and sexy, sweet and spicy and one you’ll finish reading in one sitting easily.

From the very first page, it’s very obvious that Vivian and Niko have feelings for each other but have never let themselves take their relationship there for fear of losing their friendship. Niko’s history makes him even more resistant to the idea of love and romance, and everything that comes with those things. And even after their relationship changes, he fights very hard to deny his feelings for her.

I adored the fact that the bond between Vivian and Niko was so strong that she was the only person he could let down his guard and be comfortable with. The shift from friends to lovers couldn’t have come at a better time considering the drama that is introduced into their lives in the second half of the book.

I loved that they also had lots of supportive people in their lives who came through for they every time they needed them to. Vivian’s sisters are very hilarious and I’m looking forward to more stories in the series.
