Wealth has a price. Everyone wants something from you. For one woman, that something was my DNA. One minute, she was kissing me like we were going to strip it down and go
at it. And the next, she was ripping out my hair for a paternity test—and threatening to torpedo my latest deal. I don’t play these kind of games. And that damnably sexy woman with the alluring eyes and mistaken agenda is about to learn that the hard way…

Millionaire scion Jagger Hamilton didn’t father Kennedy Price’s nephew. That doesn’t mean he can’t use the situation to his advantage. She wants him to take a paternity test. He wants her in his bed.

He shouldn’t.

She’s blackmailing him, and she’s playing dirty. He could try to use the famous Hamilton charm to turn her into a powerful ally… But she makes him feel… Way. Too. Much.

Kennedy Price isn’t asking much. Just for the powerful, sinfully hot, and notorious playboy to be a decent human being. But he’s used to using that filthy, sensual mouth for getting what he wants.

And he wants her.

She’s determined not to fall for him. But there’s no avoiding his charisma, or his bed, where she threatens to lose more than the standoff between them. She just might lose her heart.

Review

Sarah Ballance is an auto-read author for me and as usual she comes through with a very entertaining and sexy story, with witty banter, lots of steam and really enjoyable characters, a story so engaging that you won’t want to stop reading until the very last word.

Kennedy has always taken care of her sister since she was younger and she’s is not afraid to get down and dirty to get her sister what she needs, in this case support from the father of her baby, but only a smart or foolish woman would go up against a powerful man like Jagger and expect to come out unscathed. I really liked her because she was strong, independent and very honest with herself. Even though she knew that Jagger was way out of her league, she wasn’t going to deny the attraction between them or herself the temporary pleasure she could find in his arms.

Jagger is a businessman worth every dollar in his bank account and he didn’t get there by ignoring opportunities, so while he knows that he can’t possibly be the father to Kennedy’s nephew, he won’t pass up the perfect opportunity she presents him to seal the deal with her boss and he also won’t pass up a chance to get her in his bed. But Kennedy is a game-changer in every way for Jagger,

I like that while the story is fun and lighthearted, there are emotional undertones which add depth to it. Both Kennedy and Jagger have their issues, which they have to deal with to get the happy ending, but those issues are not overdone. This was a very fun read and I liked the distant connection to the very first book by Ms. Ballance that I read – The Marriage Agenda – which I also loved.

About Sarah Ballance

Sarah and her husband of what he calls “many long, long years” live on the mid-Atlantic coast with their six young children, all of whom are perfectly adorable when they’re asleep. She never dreamed of becoming an author, but as a homeschooling mom, she often jokes she writes fiction because if she wants anyone to listen to her, she has to make them up. (As it turns out, her characters aren’t much better than the kids). When not buried under piles of laundry, she may be found adrift in the Atlantic (preferably on a boat) or seeking that ever-elusive perfect writing spot where not even the kids can find her.

She loves creating unforgettable stories while putting her characters through an unkind amount of torture—a hobby that has nothing to do with living with six children. (Really.) Though she adores nail-biting mystery and edge-of-your-seat thrillers, Sarah writes in many genres including contemporary and ghostly paranormal romance. Her ever-growing roster of releases may be found on her website.
