Choose the one guy you can’t have . . .

As captain of a San Francisco Bay tour boat, Pru can handle rough seas—the hard part is life on dry land. Pru loves her new apartment and her neighbors; problem is, she’s in danger of stumbling into love with Mr. Right for Anybody But Her.

Fall for him—hard . . .

Pub owner Finn O’Riley is six-foot-plus of hard-working hottie who always makes time for his friends. When Pru becomes one of them, she discovers how amazing it feels to be on the receiving end of that deep green gaze. But when a freak accident involving darts (don’t ask) leads to shirtless first aid, things rush way past the friend zone. Fast.

And then tell him the truth.

Pru only wants Finn to be happy; it’s what she wishes for at the historic fountain that’s supposed to grant her heart’s desire. But wanting him for herself is a different story—because Pru’s been keeping a secret that could change everything. .

Review

SWEET LITTLE LIES is another winner from Jill Shalvis, with a genuinely nice and selfless heroine, an effortlessly charming hero and a really sweet love story, as well as scene-stealing secondary characters and is a really great start to this new series. Ms. Shalvis combines humor, fun dialogue and friendship with a little bit of tear-inducing drama in a really engaging way and Pru and Finn will definitely grab a firm hold of your heart.

Pru has spent the years since her parents’ deaths making amends to all of those affected by their actions, never mind that it wasn’t her fault and that she was barely an adult who lost the only family she ever had. Her latest project is making sure that Finn O ‘Riley finds happiness and fun whisperer that she is, she is going to make sure that it happens for him, but one thing she won’t be doing is falling for him. Or so she hopes. Never mind that he is the most gorgeous male specimen she’s ever laid her eyes on. Especially not with the secret she’s hiding.

Finn gave up his life to raise his younger brother after their father’s death and running the pub has left him with little time for a life. Until Pru moves in next door and catches his eye and make Finn want a life outside of work.

One thing Ms. Shalvis does so well in addition to writing a really great romance is great friendships that make a reader want to join in the camaraderie and this book is no different. Finn’s friends are almost as appealing as he is to Pru and for Pru who has had no one since she lost her parents, becoming one of them is unexpected but very welcome. While the drama brought a tear to my eyes, the making up was so worth it.

SWEET LITTLE LIES has everything anyone can ever want in a romance – great characters, a lovely location, lots of humor and just the right amount of drama and is a must read.
