SLEEPLESS IN MANHATTAN is such a fun, sweet and feel good story, the kind that lights you up from the inside and makes you feel really optimistic about love, friendship and everything good. And it’s the perfect way to escape into the magic of New York City, the land of bright lights and endless possibilities. 

Paige Walker is determined to live her life on her own terms, even if it means starting her own business with her friends on a wing and a prayer, even if it means asking for help from her brother’s best friend, successful entrepreneur and playboy Jake Romano and even if it means confessing her love to him, again, even if he throws it back in her face, again.

Jake Romano doesn’t believe in love but he can’t deny the chemistry between him and Paige.  He’s no choirboy, and he’s fought long and hard to keep her at a distance, even damaging the easy friendship between them but having her in such close proximity has worn down his ability to resist her. Even though he knows the complications of getting involved with her, especially because she is his best friend’s younger sister.

After a long week, this was exactly what I needed to perk me up and it actually felt like the switch turned on to summer and all the fun that comes with it as I read. Ms. Morgan does a really great job with the characters and a very familiar trope. From the eclectic mix of personalities – the dreamer, the organizer and the pragmatic – to the complex relationship between Paige and Jake and everything behind it, every page is pure pleasure to read. The friendship between Paige and her best friends and among all five of them is central to this book just as much as the romance between Paige and Jake is. I really enjoyed this book and can’t wait for the rest of the series.

With enjoyable characters, witty dialogue and the glitz and glamour of New York City as the backdrop for a sexy romance, SLEEPLESS IN MANHATTAN should be at the top of everyone’s summer reading list.
