Every girl needs a guardian angel—even if he wears black leather. In the first novel of her scintillating True Brothers MC series, Gillian Archer introduces readers to a sexy-as-sin biker . . . and the woman wild enough to tame him.

After dinner with the most arrogant man in the world, Jessica Miller is shocked when her blind date tries to maul her in the parking lot. Enter “Zag”: the brooding, bruising alpha male who jumps off his motorcycle and teaches the jerk a lesson he won’t forget. After getting one taste of a bad boy who lives on the edge, Jessica’s hooked. Zag’s willing to give her the ride of her life. But she needs to wrap her arms around his powerful chest and hold on—tight.

Zag knows firsthand that the True Brothers MC isn’t for the faint of heart. He only intends to show beautiful, innocent Jessica a few cheap thrills to satisfy her curiosity. But the more he lets her in, the more Zag comes to depend on her gentle touch to help heal the wounds that he’s been denying for so long. Now, a rival gang has set its sights on Jessica, and Zag must step up once again. He just hopes he can go the distance to protect the woman he loves.

Review

Well, my foray into the MC genre has made something clear: the grittier and darker stories make me uncomfortable and I’m more suited to MC-lite romances. Unfortunately, the only way I can determine which ones are of the lite variety is to read them. But I digress.

Don’t you just hate when people around you (hint: your mom) keep going on and on about your single status, how you’re not getting any younger and need to settle down and start a family? I know I hated it when I was single and it’s still a hot button for me to this day. Like dating isn’t already hard enough, especially for women.

Poor Jessica Miller had to contend with that and in order to keep the peace with her mom, she decides to take her up on the offer to set her up on a blind date with nice young man. Bad idea! Said nice young man turns out to be not so nice when he sticks her with the bill after ordering up the priciest items on the menu. As if that wasn’t bad enough, turns out he’s also an octopus with wandering hands and won’t take no for an answer. What a prize. Not.

What do you know? The biker that everyone would warn her away from is the one who comes to her rescue and actually behaves like a gentleman, but also gives her the hottest sex of her life. But Zag is from a different world and she can’t see them going beyond the one night. Well, Zag doesn’t agree with her and shows her why one night is not enough.

With the mind-blowing orgasms comes the dark, illicit dealings of Zag’s world and when Jessica is endangered by one of his biker brothers, Zag is determined to keep her safe even against her will. Will they be able to walk away from each other after the danger is gone?

This book was sweeter than I expected and I love that both Zag and Jessica didn’t focus on their differences, but dug deep to find the best in each other. I had a blast reading this book because there were so many hilarious moments.

RUTHLESS is a reminder that love comes in all forms and not to reject the best thing that could happen to you because it doesn’t come in the expected packaging. I really enjoyed it and I’ll definitely recommend it to anyone who enjoys biker romances but without the darkness and grit.
