MY IDEA OF A PERFECT VALENTINE’S DAY by Lori Foster: Guest Post

Bestselling author Lori Foster shares her idea of a perfect Valentine’s Day date to celebrate the upcoming release of Fighting Dirty (available February 23 wherever books are sold).

I love to buy heart shaped boxes of chocolates to send to the kids. I have three sons and three grandsons. (Yeah, we don’t really make girl babies in this family.) My oldest grandson loves to gets cards from me, but he also informed me that he’d enjoy some packages too (he is soooo adorable!) So whenever I have a good reason, I try to send him a package. When the other two are ready, I’ll be sending them packages and cards too.

I know it’s supposed to be the ultimate romantic day. But, despite writing romance, I’m not really a romantic person. For me, love is shown day in and day out by being supportive, understanding, sharing, and listening. My husband is the absolute best.

I love flowers. But he brings me those off and on all the time. I’ll be scrambling to get something done, feeling frustrated with something, and there he is a beautiful bouquet. ::sigh:: He’s a great guy.

And I love chocolate, but we go to the movies often – sometimes two or three times a week if there are movies I want to see. (Movies are my mind-break from writing.) I try to restrict my candy habit for when I’m sitting in a theater munching away on Milk Duds or Sugar Babies or a Milky Way bar.

Luckily my husband knows me well – and understands I’m not a super romantic person – so when we saw that a new Die Hard movie – A Good Day to Die Hard – was releasing on Valentine’s Day, he gave me a high five. Yes, seeing Bruce Willis is my perfect idea of an awesome Valentine’s Day date! Watching Bruce Willis kick butt, what could be better than that? But then, being totally honest, every day with my husband is a good day.

I do have some wonderfully romantic, sexy and funny books I’ve been waiting to read too. I adore books by Jill Shalvis and Erin McCarthy, but I set them aside when I’m on a deadline so that I can stick to finishing my own work before I enjoy theirs.

How do YOU plan to celebrate the day?

Fighting Dirty He’s the hottest MMA fighter in the game, but one woman is ready to try out a few steamy moves of her own in an unforgettable new novel from New York Times bestselling author Lori Foster

With the life he’s led and the muscles he’s gained, Armie Jacobson isn’t afraid of anything. Except maybe Merissa Colter’s effect on him. It’s not just that she’s his best friend’s little sister. Fact is, she deserves better. Women pursue him for one night of pleasure, and that’s all he wants to offer. Until rescuing Merissa from a robbery leads to the most erotic encounter of his life.

Good girl meets bad boy. It’s a story that rarely ends well. But Merissa is taking matters into her own hands. No matter how he views himself, the Armie she knows is brave, honorable and completely loyal. And as past demons and present-day danger collide, they’re both about to learn what’s truly worth fighting for…
