He’s the hottest MMA fighter in the game, but one woman is ready to try out a few steamy moves of her own in an unforgettable new novel from New York Times bestselling author Lori Foster…

With the life he’s led and the muscles he’s gained, Armie Jacobson isn’t afraid of anything. Except maybe Merissa Colter’s effect on him. It’s not just that she’s his best friend’s little sister. Fact is, she deserves better. Women pursue him for one night of pleasure, and that’s all he wants to offer. Until rescuing Merissa from a robbery leads to the most erotic encounter of his life.

Good girl meets bad boy. It’s a story that rarely ends well. But Merissa is taking matters into her own hands. No matter how he views himself, the Armie she knows is brave, honorable and completely loyal. And as past demons and present-day danger collide, they’re both about to learn what’s truly worth fighting for…

Review

I didn’t know what to expect when I started reading FIGHTING DIRTY, but I certainly did not expect to love it as much as I did. It is my favorite of the series and ends the entire series on a high note.

Good girl plus damaged bad boy. Best friend’s younger sister. You would expect a lot of complications based on their history, but this story was so far from that. I love my romances to be mostly drama-free and more about relationship building and this book delivers on that in spades. It was also very sweet in a heartwarming way and I loved watching a confident woman run her man to ground and an inspiring man realize his worth, and truly open up and accept the friendship and support of people who respect him.

Merissa Colter has been in love with her brother’s best friend since she was a teenager and even though he’s attracted to her, he hasn’t followed through on that attraction. Instead, he’s content to work on shoring up his reputation as an adventurous man-whore, always up for anything. Merissa is done waiting on him and decides to take matters into her own hands. I enjoyed getting to know her and I loved her strength and how she put herself out there for what she desired.

Armie Jacobson likes to keep a low profile, except when it comes to the ladies but he knows that Merissa is way too good for him, so no matter how badly he wants her, he’ll never go there. Also, he owes her brother a debt of gratitude and would never do anything to jeopardize his friendship with him. Well, his resolve only lasts until Merissa is attacked and he steps in to protect her.

I really loved Armie. In spite of his whorish ways, he was a very good man, always fun, always willing to lend a hand, always kind to everyone, even the ladies who jostled for a turn with him. His story helped me understand him and his reasons for fighting his attraction to Merissa as well as his clumsy attempts to protect her from his past.

The MVP (if you will) of this story is Cannon. He was so caring and protective of both of them. If I had a big brother, I would definitely want him to be like Cannon. The friendships and connections among the group are really the stuff of dreams. Everyone was invested and was always available for the others and I think that is one of the best things about this series.

This was such a great story and I would definitely recommend it anyone who loves reading sweet romances with little drama. I only wish we had an epilogue to finish things off nicely.
