I love Valentine’s Day. I relish being in stores when men are picking up boxes of candy, buying flowers or some other romantic trinket. That lets me know that even with everything that is going on in our lives, we can still take time out to show our love, admiration and appreciation to the one who we care about the most. The one person who has our heart.
Whenever I write a romance novel I think of all those things that makes a relationship not only work, but that would make it a loving relationship. By the end of a Brenda Jackson novel I want my readers to feel that the hero and heroine—no matter the obstacles they faced—are together forever. I believe my new book, Possessed by Passion, is one my readers will enjoy.
Of all the stories I write, my favorite tropes are always reunited love or second chances at love. I truly believe everyone has a soul mate. A person who understands you. Loves you. For better or worse. A person who will always be there for you. The person who makes you feel whole. I knew when I met my husband Gerald at fourteen that he was special. I didn’t realize just how special he was, and that he was my soul mate until right before he asked me to be his wife. I had no idea that loving someone would be so deep and satisfying. I’ve loved him for over forty plus years and I can’t imagine ever loving anyone else. I would tell him all the time that my greatest gift and blessing was wearing his last name…
Do you think everyone has a special person, a soul mate? If you have not found that person yet, do you refuse to settle, are you willing to wait for your soul mate?
They’re discovering the healing powers of passion
Burned-by-love architect Hunter McKay came home to Phoenix to open her own firm, not rekindle her fleeting high school romance with playboy Tyson Steele. But when she runs into the sexy surgeon at a nightclub—and he unleashes that legendary Steele charm—Hunter fears she’s headed straight for heartbreak once again.
Tyson hasn’t forgotten the one who got away. A weeklong fling should be just enough to get the sultry beauty out of his system for good, even if he has to let Hunter set the ground rules. But the rules are suddenly changing for the no-strings bachelor. Can Tyson convince this sensual woman that he’s the real deal—that they deserve a second chance together?
