Sometimes a kiss is so much more…
Single mom Lena Oserkowski just wants to relax at the 5-star resort where her brother is getting married. Oh, and figure out how to make one of her businesses successful enough to support her son. Her focus is thrown out of whack when Elliot Debusshere, twin brother of her new sister-in-law, swims to her rescue at the hotel pool.
Elliot is disillusioned with his wealthy, playboy lifestyle and wants nothing more than to bring some meaning and purpose to the charity he runs. When he rescues Lena from a case of heat exhaustion and meets her son Tyler, he has no idea the answer to his problems might have just fallen in his lap. Literally.
With Lena’s ideas and Elliot’s know-how, they might just be able to make their ventures a success. Except pleasure has a sneaky way of mixing with their business, leaving both dazed and confused. Charming as he is, Elliot isn’t father material. And there’s no room for a single mom and her child in his life. While the attraction between them isn’t easily squashed, there’s no telling the lengths his family will go to prevent a relationship.
Review
Elliot Debusshere is so over his current lifestyle as a playboy and wants to take the family charity, which he runs, to the next level but he can’t come up with any ideas to do so. He’s also hampered by his parents’ lack of faith in him and their low expectations of him and he really needs something big to impress them. Little does he know that the woman he rescues from the pool would be the solution to his problem. And create a whole new set of problems for him.
Lena Oserkowski has heard a lot about Elliot and his love ’em and leave ’em ways but when he rides to her rescue, she gets to know a different side of him – the ambitious dreamer and they strike up a bargain. For Lena’s help in coming up with a winning idea to focus the charity’s efforts on, Elliot would fund her business venture. But the attraction between them is hard to resist and they find themselves mixing business with pleasure with mixed reactions from everyone around them. They have to figure out what’s growing between them and Lena has the added task of protecting her son from getting too close to Elliot to avoid being hurt.
I really liked both Elliot and Lena. They are quite alike, in the sense that they have dreams which they haven’t been able to turn into reality. For Elliot, it’s because he hasn’t shown any consistent interest in the family holdings before now, but to his credit he’s changing that. Lena has had a lot of big and potentially successful ideas that tank when it comes to implementing them due to a lack of funding so she feels like a failure. With the disparity in their backgrounds, reservations from their siblings about their relationship and with Elliot’s parents disparaging Lena at every turn, will Lena and Elliot be able to make their relationship work?
KISSING HER CRAZY is sweet story about how finding the right person can be the inspiration to reach for your dreams; about both personal and family dreams, expectations and attitudes and how they affected the growing relationship between Lena and Elliot. I really disliked his parents, the lack of support they gave him and his ideas and the behavior towards Lena. I loved how encouraging their siblings were of their relationship but what I love most is the bond between Tyler and Elliot.
