The author of Flirting with Scandal presents her second book in a sexy contemporary romance series about three sisters in a powerful political family, the scandals that threaten to destroy them, and the passion that drives them…

The daughter of one of the Senate’s most powerful figures, Blair Reynolds was ready to become the ultimate political wife—until she caught her fiancé cheating on her wedding day. Law school is a fresh start, her shot at putting the pieces of her life back together. That’s the plan, at least. Until trouble comes in the form of her Torts professor, the man whose arrogance infuriates her in class but haunts her private fantasies.

Graydon Canter had a fortune and a place on all the hottest “Thirty under Thirty” lists, until a series of personal missteps nearly destroyed his career. A year teaching at a D.C. law school is just the break he needs to get his life back in order, as long as nothing—and no one—trips him up.

When Blair and Gray are forced to work together, their explosive attraction becomes impossible to resist. But Gray’s demons have drawn him dangerously close to the edge, and Blair has spent her life playing by the rules. Will she break them for a shot at love?

Review

Blair Reynolds is political royalty. From birth she has been groomed to be the perfect political asset – first as the perfect daughter and now she’s poised to become the perfect wife until she catches her fiancé in a compromising position with his best man. Also, the discovery that her father had a mistress and a child add to the destruction of her illusions and she’s determined to put her life together and find herself. The first step is going to law school. Blair’s struggles with law school get compounded by her visceral attraction her super hot professor.

Graydon Canter went from the kid from the wrong side of town to a rising star in legal circles in Chicago until he tanked his career, wrecked his reputation and destroyed his marriage. The teaching job in a second-rate law school gives him the opportunity to regroup and rebuild his career and he cannot afford to mess this up. Blair Reynolds is a big threat to his fresh start because he wants her from the first time he sees her but he knows that getting involved with his student would completely destroy what little credibility he has left. Too bad because his body is not listening to his brain and he craves Blair and can’t stay away from her. Talk about forbidden romance!

The sexual chemistry between Blair and Graydon is majorly intense but what sucked me into PLAYING WITH TROUBLE was the journey of discovery both Blair and Graydon went through. Blair has been held out as a symbol of perfection, but she knows how far from the truth that is. She’s not smart, can’t decide on a career and she can’t even keep up with the workload in law school. All she has going for her is her beauty but she keeps at it and the transformation is so great. She becomes assertive and bold, not afraid to ask for what she wants.

Graydon has an addictive personality, which played a heavy role in his fall from grace and he’s afraid that he would destroy Blair. She has to convince him that what they have is special and she fights so hard for him, but she would not settle for less than what she deserved. Ultimately, Graydon has to decide if Blair would be enough.

“I’m willing to fight for us, but I can’t do it if I’m fighting on my own. And I won’t fight you. I want to be happy. I want to have kids. I want a future with a man who will treat me the way I deserve to be treated.”

I love PLAYING WITH TROUBLE. The drama, the angst, the sexual tension – all of it makes a very delicious package. The characters are really fun and the  story kept me turning the pages and I can’t wait for Kate’s story.

About Chanel Cleeton

Originally a Florida girl, CHANEL CLEETON moved to London where she received a bachelor’s degree from Richmond, The American International University in London and a master’s degree from the London School of Economics and Political Science. Chanel fell in love with London and planned to stay there forever, until fate intervened on a Caribbean cruise and a fighter pilot with smooth dance moves swept her off her feet. Now, a happily ever after later, Chanel is living her next adventure.

Law school made Chanel realize she’d rather spend her days writing sexy stories than in a courtroom, and she hasn’t looked back since. An avid reader and hopeless romantic, she’s happiest curled up with a book. She has a weakness for handbags, her three pups, and her husband.

Chanel writes contemporary romances. She is published by Harlequin HQN, Penguin/InterMix, and Penguin/Berkley and is the author of the International School, Capital Confessions, and Wild Aces series.
