The highly anticipated third novel in the Searching For series from Jennifer Probst, “one of the most exciting breakout novelists” (USA TODAY), featuring a runaway bride and the man who wants to be more than just her best friend…

Genevieve MacKenzie has her life completely under control. About to wed the charming Chief doctor at the local hospital, she’s an up-and-coming surgeon with everything she could ever want. Until an escape through the church window on the day of her wedding sends her life into a tailspin…and flings her right into her best friend’s arms.

When Wolfe catches his best friend falling out a window on her wedding day, he doesn’t ask questions. He whisks her away, determined to watch over her and discover the truth behind her desperate escape. But when his feelings turn more than platonic, he realizes he may risk his most important relationship in order to protect his damaged heart, and the woman he loves.

Can Genevieve and Wolfe’s friendship turn into something deeper—or is it already too late for true love?

Review

Searching for Beautiful really is… beautiful! What starts as a simple story of a runaway bride becomes a best friends-to-lovers tale. But this is not just your everyday friends-to-lovers story. Searching for Beautiful is a story of pain, hopelessness, despair and ultimately, resilience and love.

Genevieve MacKenzie realizes almost too late that marrying her fiance would be the worst thing ever and flees the church through the window, right into the arms of her best friend, Wolfe. Wolfe is the best friend to have, helping her make her getaway and providing a hideout with no questions asked.

Genevieve has always worked hard to be perfect in everything, a trait that allowed her ex-fiance to skillfully manipulate her, isolate her from her family and friends, and erode her strength, confidence, and independence. With Wolfe, Gen finds herself re-discovering her zest for life even as the banked and unacknowledged attraction between them flares into a burning flame. Both are wary of crossing that line, afraid of how that would affect their friendship. All it takes is one very scorching kiss!

Wolfe is perfect in every way. He provided Gen with a hideaway when she needed it and shielded her from all the resulting fallout from her non-wedding and also showed her that she was special and deserved to be cherished. And when her ‘perfect’ ex-fiance showed his true colors, he was right there for her. But will Wolfe allow Gen to return the favor?

Wolfe stole my heart with how sweet and caring and protective he was and his painful past broke my heart. I find myself very easily drawn to the emotions that the characters go through when I read and this was no different. Watching Wolfe fight so hard against his feelings for Gen because he didn’t think he was good enough for her was heart-wrenching and brought tears to my eyes. I love that Gen fought hard and long for Wolfe with every tool she had and showed him how good they were together. I liked that in spite of the hot attraction between them, there was a slow build-up to them setting the sheets on fire.

I love how Ms. Probst takes a very basic story-line and makes it very emotional, entertaining, funny and filled with sizzling chemistry between the main characters and has the reader experiencing a wide array of emotions that end in a HEA for Wolfe and Gen.
