In the last few weeks, I have read a lot of tearjerkers and highly emotional books and I was on the search for a book with a hot guy to perv on and FULL CONTACT fits the bill perfectly!
Sia O’Donnell is a talented artist who walked away from her passion because of a past experience and chose to express herself as a tattoo artist. She finds inspiration for her tattoo art in the underground MMA circuit and enjoys watching the fighters, but is particularly interested in one – Ray “The Predator” Black. In fact, Sia has been drooling over him for quite some time but her past has left her with PTSD and a need for control and she knows that Ray will be more than she can handle but she can’t resist watching him.
Ray Black is a man burdened by the guilt of not being there for his loved ones and has chosen to avoid emotional entanglements to avoid hurt. The no-holds-barred, no rules underground fights he takes part in are his outlet for all the seething emotions in him. Until the day he sees Sia and he sees a chance at a real life, away from the shadows he lives in and Sia is the shining beacon to that life. Unfortunately, his job and the secretive world he operates in make it difficult for him to walk away.
FULL CONTACT is exactly what I have come to expect from Sarah Castille – gritty, rough and sexy as hell, with lots of steam, a volatile romance and some suspense thrown in. What’s not to love about an edgy, hot, muscled and tattooed man? Especially one of the dominant and caveman-esque variety. Ray needs to be in control and Sia has a craving to be dominated, a craving Ray recognizes and feeds, even as he helps her work through her fears. And, boy, the sexual heat between Sia and Ray was enough to fog over the screen of my Kindle!
However, it’s not just about the sex, hot as it is, with Sia and Ray. They both have to decide if they will let the past hold them down. Sia goes through some amazing growth, gaining confidence and taking back her life bit by bit but Ray takes a bit longer to get there and his secrets put Sia in danger. The push-pull and back and forth in their relationship gave me a bit of whiplash, though. In the end, I was left feeling like Sia and Ray were two halves of a whole that fit together perfectly.
