For two stubborn people…

Corporate mogul Shane Donovan sees the ultra-cool, collected Cecilia Riley as an ice queen–even if he can’t deny that, on the surface, she’s a work of perfection his body can’t ignore. Forced to spend two weeks in the same house for his sister’s upcoming wedding, Shane senses that deep down Cecilia mirrors his need. And he’s determined to draw her into a sexy game that will melt away her reserve. . .

Losing is not an option…

Career-driven Cecilia Riley has just enough free time in her schedule to head out of town for her brother’s wedding. But her agenda is thrown for a loop by the presence of Shane. Though his over-confident attitude leaves a lot to be desired, his insanely hot body has kept Cecilia up nights. Unsure what game Shane is playing, Cecilia takes the bait, bent on resisting him at all costs.

But as Shane and Cecilia discover, temptation follows no rules…

Ever read book where you got tingles in your tummy a few pages in and you just KNEW you were going to have fun reading it? THE WINNER TAKES IT ALL was one of those for me and it delivered on its promise!

Cecilia Riley is the ultimate ice queen with her power suits, icy façade and absolute control. She has spent her entire life trying to gain her father’s approval and is about to take a huge step towards achieving her political aspirations and hopefully gaining her father’s seal of approval. In the meantime, she has committed to spending time with her family and friends for her brother’s pre-wedding festivities. The only problem is she will have to spend time with her antagonist – Shane Donovan, also known as the bride’s elder brother. Underneath her dislike for Shane is a very fierce attraction to him, one she cannot understand because he is not her type. Spending time with her family and friends makes Cecilia rethink the choices and sacrifices she’s made in her life.

Shane Donovan is intensely attracted to Cecelia and has been from the first time he saw her but he prefers his women smart, soft and warm and while Cecilia was smart, she definitely was not soft or warm. Being in close proximity with Cecilia, Shane realizes that underneath the aloof exterior is a bundle of emotions and that Cecilia is also very attracted to him. He is determined to have her and nothing will get in his way. The chemistry between them was explosive and when they finally hit the sheets (and the kitchen counter and the wall), whew! Hot, hot, hot!

The backdrop to Shane and Cecilia’s romance is political intrigue and family dysfunction and when Shane is threatened, Cecilia will fight with every tool in her arsenal to defend her man (think Scandal and gladiators, she is a fixer after all) and take charge of her own life.

THE WINNER TAKES IT ALL was pure bliss to read. I loved the writing, the dialogue, the banter and I absolutely adored the characters. Shane was self-confident, hot, sexy, bossy and deliciously dominant in every sense of the word. Cecilia was no slouch though. She was feisty, smart, bold and Shane’s match in every way. The secondary characters were an interesting addition and rounded out the story. It was very entertaining and my only complaint is that the end came too soon. THE WINNER TAKES IT ALL is a must-read for any true lover of romance and deserves 5 pleasurable stars.

About Jennifer Dawson

Jennifer Dawson grew up in the suburbs of Chicago and graduated from DePaul University with a degree in psychology. She met her husband at the public library while they were studying. To this day she still maintains she was NOT checking him out. Now, over twenty years later, they’re married and living in a suburb right outside of Chicago with two awesome kids and a crazy dog.

Despite going through a light FM, poem writing phase in high school, Jennifer never grew up wanting to be a writer (she had more practical aspirations of being an international super spy). Then one day, suffering from boredom and disgruntled with a book she’d been reading, she decided to put pen to paper. The rest, as they say, is history.

These days Jennifer can be found sitting behind her computer, writing her next novel, chasing after her kids, keeping an ever watchful eye on her ever growing to-do list, and NOT checking out her husband.
